17 Bible Verses About Hope

Are you feeling discouraged and hopeless with all the things that are going on in your life, your country, your world?

Remember who your God is. Remember that Jesus is your Savior and Lord. Remember that God’s spirit lives within you—you are never alone, and you are always and forever connected to Him.

Memorize God’s promises. Claim them. Shout them at Satan when he attacks. Things are not hopeless. We have the greatest hope of all—a Heavenly Father who gave his Son so that we can belong to him forever. Our eternity is sealed.

God is Always With us:

1. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

2. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b (NIV)

God loves us unconditionally:

3. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)

God is faithful:

4. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)

9. . . . And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:2-5 (NIV)

God is our Strength

12. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7

God can be Trusted

17. No list would be complete without Psalm 23. David reminds us of how great it is to be in the presence of our Heavenly Father and all the gifts that He bestows on us. Our Father blesses us with so much, and He is always with us in every circumstance, good or bad.

The Shepherd’s Psalm

Psalm 23 (AMP)

A Psalm of David

The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me],
I shall not want.
He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still and quiet waters.
He refreshes and restores my soul (life);
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord.
